Old World Stuffed Pork Chops

4 ea Pork chops -- 1/2 inch thick
1 tb Olive oil
1 ds Salt
1 ds Pepper
3 c Dry bread crumbs -- unseasoned cubes
1 cn Corn -- cream-style 16 oz
1 ea Egg -- lightly beaten
1 ts Onion -- grated
1/2 ts Sage -- rubbed
1/2 ts Dried basil
1/2 ts Salt
1/4 ts Pepper


In a skillet, brown pork chops in oil on both sides; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine remaining ingredients and mix well. Alternate the pork chops and stuffing lengthwise in a greased 3 qt. or 11x7x2 inch baking dish. bake uncovered at 350 deg. for 1 hr. Yield: 4 servings.
