3 lb Very lean ground pork
2 sm Onions, finely chopped
1 ts Salt
1 ts Sage or mixture of 1 teaspoon savory, 1/2 teaspoon pepper and 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 c Water
Pastry for 2 9-inch, 2-crust pies

Method: Simmer pork, onions, salt, herb(s) and water about 25 minutes. Cool.

Line 2 9-inch pie pans with pastry. Turn pork mixture into pans. Cover each with pastry. Bake at 450F for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350F and bake 5 to 10 minutes longer, till pastry is browned. Serve hot.
