French Meat Pie

2 tb Oil
1 lg Onion, thinly sliced
1 lb Ground beef
1 lb Ground pork
1 c Mashed potatoes
1 cn (8oz) veg-all, drained
2 ts Allspice
1 ts Salt
1/4 ts Pepper
Double crust pie shell
1 Egg, beaten, optional

Saute onion in oil until tender. Remove from pan and set aside. Brown beef and pork; drain. Combine meat, onion and seasonings; mix well. Pour into pastry lined pie plate; cover with top crust, fluting edges to seal. Make steam vents, brush with egg if de

Bake at 375F. unti crust is golden, 30-35 minutes.
