Ham, Cheese and Olive Turnovers

1 (8 oz.) sheet frozen puff pastry
6 oz. ham (1 1/3 c. chopped)
1/3 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
4 lg. green olives (1/4 c. chopped)
1/3 c. mayonnaise
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 egg


Heat oven to 400 degrees. Thaw the dough. Combine the chopped ham, olives and shredded cheese with the mayonnaise and pepper. Unfold the pastry and roll on a lightly floured surface to a 12 inch square. Cut the dough into sixteen 3 inch squares. Brush the edges of each square with cold water. Divide the ham mixture among the squares. Fold each square in half and press the edges together with a fork. Beat the egg with 1 teaspoon water. Brush the tops of turnovers with the egg glaze. Transfer to ungreased baking sheet. Bake until golden, 10 to 12 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature. Makes 16 turnovers.
