Barbecued Ribs

3 lbs. spareribs
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 lg. onion, sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
2 c. barbecue sauce

Put ribs in broiler pan and broil for about 25 minutes or until browned. Discard fat. Cut ribs into serving pieces; sprinkle with salt and pepper and place in cooker. Add all other ingredients. Cook on low 6-8 hours or on high 3-4 hours. Yield: 5-6 servings.
