1 lb. bulk lean pork sausage
4 slices white bread (cut into 1" squares)
1/2 lb. cheese (hoop style), grated
8 eggs, beaten
4 c. milk
Cook sausage in skillet until color changes, but do not brown. Drain meat well between paper towels. In a baking dish or pan (one that will go from refrigerator to oven) 9 x 14 x 2 inches. Place bread in bottom of dish. Sprinkle meat on bread, then cheese. Mix milk with eggs and pour over cheese. Cover and place in refrigerator overnight. In the morning bake 25-30 minutes in a 350 degree oven until set and light brown. A very good dish for breakfast or brunch with sweet rolls or hot biscuit.
