Gourmet Pork Chops

4 Pork loin chops; 1" thick
1/4 c Flour, all-purpose
3 tb Oil, peanut
1/2 c Onion; finely chopped
1 Garlic clove; minced
1/2 c Wine, dry white
1 c Chicken stock
1/2 lb Mushrooms, fresh; sliced
2 tb Butter (or marg.)
1/4 ts Thyme, dried
1 Bay leaf

Sprinkle pork chops with salt and pepper; dredge in flour. Brown chops in hot oil over medium heat; drain well on paper towels. Place chops in a casserole dish, and set aside.

Stir onion and garlic into pan drippings in dkillet; cook until onion is tender. Add wine and stock; simmer 3 to 5 minutes.

Saute mushrooms in butter until tender; add mushrooms, thyme, and bay leaf to skillet.

Pour wine sauce over chops. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until tender. Remove bay leaf.
