Pork with Sweet Potatoes Apples and Sauerkraut

2 med. sweet potatoes
1 med. onion, sliced
2 apples, cored and sliced
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon or nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
5 boneless pork chops or pork steaks
1 (15 or 16 Oz. ) can sauerkraut, drained

Peel and cut sweet potatoes into slices about 1/2" thick. Arrange over bottom of a 3 1/2 quart slow cooker. Cover with onion, then apples. Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon or nut meg, salt and pepper. Top with pork chops, then sauerkraut. Cover and cook on low for about 5 hrs. or until chops are tender.
