Ham Stroganoff

2 tbsp butter or margarine
1 cup finely minced onion
8 cups (2 lbs) pre-cooked ham, cut into 4-inch strips
2 4oz cans mushrooms pieces and stems, drained, reserving liquid.
2 10 1/2 oz can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream.


In a skillet, melt butter and sauté onion until tender.

Remove from heat and pour into the slow cooker. .

Add ham and mushrooms.

In a small bowl, combine reserved liquid and mushroom soup. Pour over ham mixture in pot.

Cover and simmer on high for 1 1/2 - 2 hours.

Stir in sour cream 15 minutes before serving.

Serve in patty shells or over noodles or rice.

Makes 8 servings
