Oven Baked Ribs and Sauerkraut

3 lb Pork loin back ribs, cut in 2 rib sections
27 oz Canned sauerkraut, rinsed & drained
3 md Potatoes, peeled and sliced
1/3 c Chicken broth
1/4 c Pimento, chopped
1/2 ts Celery seed
1 md Onion, sliced
1/2 c Barbecue sauce

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

Place the ribs, meaty side down, in a shallow roasting pan. Roast for 20 minutes. Remove the meat from the oven. Drain off the fat.

Reduce the heat ot 350 degrees. Combine the kraut, potatoes, broth, chopped pimento and celery seed. Place in the bottom of a (13 x 9 x 2") baking dish.

Separate the onion into rings. Place on top of the kraut mixture. Place the ribs, meaty side up, in the center of the dish. Brush barbecue sauce over the ribs. Cover with foil. Bake for 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours. Serve hot.
